Support the Rescue

Keeping a good place running takes steady support

Caring for chickens, ducks, and geese is everyday work. Feed needs to be stocked, shelters maintained, fencing repaired, and birds cared for through heat, cold, and everything in between.

Donations support the ongoing, practical needs of the rescue and allow us to provide a safe, permanent home for the birds who live here.

How Donations Are Used

Support received by the rescue goes directly toward the care and management of the flock, including:

  • Feed, grit, and nutritional supplements

  • Bedding and housing upkeep

  • Fence repair and predator deterrence

  • Veterinary care and health monitoring

These are routine expenses, but they are what allow the rescue to operate responsibly and consistently.

Why Long-Term Support Matters

This rescue functions as a sanctuary, not a short-term placement program.

Birds are accepted with the understanding that they will remain here long-term. That means care is planned in years, not weeks, and decisions are made with stability in mind.

Reliable support allows us to:

  • Maintain consistent care standards

  • Plan for seasonal and veterinary needs

  • Avoid emergency-driven decision making

  • Keep flocks stable and stress levels low

For both the birds and the rescue, consistency matters.

Ways to Support the Rescue

One-Time Donation
One-time gifts help cover immediate needs, unexpected repairs, and veterinary expenses as they arise.

Symbolic Adoption
Symbolic adoptions allow supporters to connect with an individual bird while contributing to the care of the entire flock.
Adoption funds are applied to overall care and operating needs.

Egg & Country Store Sales
Sales from farm eggs and items available through our country store help support the rescue’s operating expenses. These small, steady income streams contribute directly to feed, supplies, and maintenance. When you purchase from the farm or the country store, you’re supporting the birds in a practical, everyday way.

Employer Matching & Community Giving Programs
Some employers offer:
-Donation matching programs
-Volunteer grants
-Community giving initiatives
If your workplace participates in one of these programs, your support may be able to go even further. We’re happy to provide any documentation needed for employer-based donations or volunteer reporting.

Responsible Stewardship

The rescue is operated with sustainability and transparency as guiding principles. Funds are used for animal care, housing, and operational needs directly related to maintaining the sanctuary.

We aim to remain financially responsible, avoid unnecessary expansion, and ensure that the level of care provided to the birds remains consistent over time.

Questions about how donations are used are always welcome.
